Judge Chris Brown's Experience

Throughout his career, Judge Chris Brown has focused on giving back to the community he calls home.

After graduating from The Ohio State University, Judge Chris Brown attended Capital University Law School and graduated with his Juris Doctorate in 2005.

Chris has worked as a prosecutor in the Special Victims Unit, and as a criminal defense attorney, defending the Constitution and those charged with criminal offenses.

After his experience at the Prosecutor's Office, Chris joined the J. Scott Weisman Law Offices as the Managing Attorney. As the managing partner, he was responsible for making sure the firm ran smoothly and efficiently.

His unique experience serving the public and leading a successful law firm led him to run a successful campaign to become a Judge on the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas.

Judge Brown remains active in the Columbus community, serving on the Alvis 180 Board of Trustees and the Franklin County Adult Probation Transition Advisory Committee.

Judge Chris Brown has received the following awards and recognitions:

  • Central Ohio Association for Justice's Tyack Award for Judicial Excellence, 2019;
  • Ohio State University Political Science Department Distinguished Alumni Award, 2016;
  • Top 100 Trial Lawyers, National Trial Lawyers Association, 2013;
  • Rising Star Award, Columbus Super Lawyers, 2009.
